Wendy Swenson, CTC, first joined World Travel as Controller in July 1986 The travel industry became her favorite industry because it was constantly changing, and there were always new things to learn and changes to make, which is what makes life so fun for her. Wendy was quickly promoted to VP of Finance in 1986 and most recently to VP of Finance and Operations in 2012.

Wendy’s most recent projects were to upgrade the World Travel Email system to Microsoft Exchange/Office 365, change payroll vendors, and to change internet providers for better cost and service.

Wendy’s personal mission is to provide the best accounting and administrative support for our agents, so they can provide the best service to our customers.

Recent Travels of Wendy Swenson

Trip Name: Germany – Baveria

Destinations: Southern Germany – Herrsching, Andechs, & Munich,

Transportation: From Sweden, flew to Munich, then took train, and car.

Accommodations: Amersee hotel in Herrsching

Length: 4 days.

Trip Highlights: Visited family Herrsching and Andechs, visited Andechs Monastery-great food and beer provided there, Downtown Munich – Marianplatz where we saw the Glockenspiel, 5 story bookstore, Hof Brau house where we enjoyed a band and more food and drink, took train to BMW museum, and went shopping in Wilheim.


Trip Name: Sweden

Destinations: Lund, Simrishamn, Stockholm

Transportation: Norwegian Air LAX to Copenhagen, then train and bus.

Accommodations: in Lund – The More Hotel, in Stockholm – Hotel Diplomat – both great hotels.

Length: 4 days

Trip Highlights: Lund University and the town of Lund, train to Simrishamn, Vasa Museum in Stockholm, and walking around downtown in Stockholm.


Trip Name: Iceland

Destinations: Southern part of Iceland near Reykjavik – Iceland is larger than you think.

Transportation: From Sweden we flew to Iceland, then rented a car for 6 to tour the island.

Accommodations: Hilton Hotel in Reykjavik – great view from hotel

Length: 4 days

Trip Highlights: “Golden Circle” which included Pingvellier National park, geysers, waterfalls, great cracks in the earth, views of glaciers and volcanoes. We enjoyed the Blue Lagoon spa in the rain and explored the southern tip of Iceland which included more geysers, sheer cliffs by the sea, and the Ridge Bridge – a bridge over the rift between the North American Continental plate and the Eurasian Continental Plate.
