The London West Hollywood Hotel

Tom Jackson blogs about his recent stay with his wife Sharon at The London West Hollywood Hotel in Beverly Hills.

We, Mrs. Jackson and I, needed to stay in the Beverly Hills area for 1-night, so we called our travel advisor, Linda Rainwater for her recommendation and selection.

The reason for our short 1-night stay had to do with a medical procedure early on Thursday at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for Mrs. Jackson. A 2.5 hour early morning drive from our home was not an option, thus the need for an overnight stay. Linda suggested three 5-star Virtuoso endorsed properties.  Upon review, we selected The London West

Hollywood hotel for numerous reasons.  First of all, was the location and proximity to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, just two miles away meaning a 10 minute drive at most.

The property appealed due to several other factors beyond location.  Primarily was the number of rooms, 120, and the fact that it was not a major branded hotel like a Marriot etc.  This spoke to friendly and personal. In addition, we would be provided added value benefits of an upgrade on check in, if available, plus complimentary full breakfast.  All of these items made our selection worth staying at The London West Hollywood Hotel an easy one.

We arrived around 3pm, even though early for their 4pm check-in policy, we were able to get to our room because of the Virtuoso relationship.  After the check-in process, we elected to relax in a public area referred to as the living room. There we enjoyed a cup of tea and time to read our books prior to making our decision about dinner.

We felt right at home and were treated by the staff with a family friendly feeling. Part of the hotels personal feeling is the presence of their two bulldog mascots, Churchill and Winston. That said, the London West Hollywood hotel is definitely a pooch friendly hotel, so bring the pups!

My final thoughts.

As a 5-star rated property, The London West Hollywood hotel has all the mandatory conveniences one would expect in a 5-star rated property. Some of these items include; a rooftop pool complex, a fitness center, a full spa plus a complete beauty salon. The feeling you get is one of British elegance and laid back California.

Our only disappointment was that our stay was for only one night. We are definitely planning to return in the near future for at least two or three nights.
