Katie recently went to Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. I had an incredible opportunity to travel there one summer. Summer can be a difficult time to truly enjoy Thailand because of the extreme heat and humidity. I did not know this prior and did not pack weather appropriate clothes, so I was hot everywhere I went. However, I would still highly recommend traveling there. The city has so much history and character. Everywhere you turn, there are ancient, elaborate temples. In every country I’ve traveled to, I am always drawn to the incredible architecture. By far Thailand has the most majestic architecture. I took more pictures of temples and buildings then anything else. Even local coffee shops downtown, were unique and interesting.

Another wonderful part of Chaing Mai was the open market downtown. This is similar to an enormous swap meet. I love a good bargain so this was one of my favorite memories. I was able to find gifts for all my family and friends. I found silk scarfs, purses, shoes and clothing all for amazing prices. Also at the open market, I met lots of people. Thai people are extremely friendly and welcoming. I loved learning more about their culture.
