Harrah’s Casino in Rincon with my Family

Our family recently took a two-night trip down to San Diego for Legoland and a Harrah’s Casino trip. The whole family together comprises of more adults than children but to please the kids we had planned a trip to Legoland for the day. After the whole trip was said and done all 4 of the kids shared the same feelings that the stay at Harrah’s Casino was way more fun than Legoland, and I couldn’t agree more.

Not to give Legoland a bad rap but in our opinion, it is very outdated and when traveling with two 3-year-old kids who want to ride the big rides with the older kids it isn’t accommodating. And the food is way overpriced for a theme park. We rode a few rides, went by the water park, watched a show and we were done within 6 hours, and made our trek back to the San Diego Harrah’s Casino. Now the hotel is not close by– it is about a 39-minute drive and it is in the outskirts in the mountains, but once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised.

We are Total Rewards members and since we travel to both Vegas and other Harrah’s casinos a lot we were sent comp nights for our stay. When we arrived, we weren’t expecting much since it wasn’t Vegas and it was California style gambling, but boy were we wrong. The hotel rooms were all redone and so state-of-the art, the bathrooms alone made the room but the views put it over the top. We settled in and went to bed with plans to lay by the pool the next day.

When we arrived at the pool it was one of the most beautiful looking pools I had ever been to. It was equipped with swim-up bar pools and a lazy river. The lazy river was the highlight of my kids stay– they floated around that thing for over 6 hours and we ordered some nachos and some drinks during our stay that were very reasonably priced. After the pool the kids took naps and we were off to the buffet.  The buffet was expensive but since the kids 3 and under were free it ended up being reasonably priced for our family.

Now the pool may have won over the kids but the buffet is what made them beg me to take them back to Harrah’s for a year to follow. The food was not only amazing but they had food from every corner of the world from Mexican to Vietnamese to Italian, and it was all good! My kids loved the dessert bar because they hand spun cotton candy for the kids and had so many more options than I have seen at any other buffet. We ended the night stuffed and tired and checked out the next morning after grabbing Starbuck’s for breakfast. I give Harrah’s Rincon two very enthusiastic thumbs up from this family of 5.
